Hawk Ridge Park Master Plan

Porter County, Indiana

Hawk Ridge is a 167-acre property that sits near Brincka Cross Gardens. It was acquired in 2017 through a series of grants and poses an opportunity for the Park Board to develop a habitat that supports migratory birds that fly over Lake Michigan during their twice annual journey.

After years of inactivity, PEA worked with Porter County Parks & Recreation Department to update the master plan and provide low-cost feasible projects to activate a 2-mile trail loop network and new parking area. Although site topography provides challenges for pedestrian access throughout the property, a universally accessible trail loop has been included on the north side of the park. Trails should be open for public use in 2026.
