Hospice Gardens

Munster, Indiana

In 2021, PEA began a pro-bono partnership with the Hospice of the Calumet Region to develop a master plan for their William J. Riley facility in Munster, Indiana. The primarily lawn site was envisioned to create a series of gardens with walking paths and sitting areas for the residents and their families. Landscape areas were themed to provide opportunities for sensory, fragrance, familiar, cut-flower and pollinator gardens. Pathways were designed to provide comfortable universal accessibility with multiple seating areas for rest along the paths.

The master plan was completed in 2022. PEA assisted the client in developing cost estimates for fundraising efforts. All project funding was obtained and construction completed in 2025.
