Valparaiso School District

PEA assisted the design architect (Gibraltar Architects) in updating seven existing buildings and sites as part of the School District’s $148M construction referendum in May 2015. The referendum also included a new elementary school to replace the Hayes Leonard School. The new elementary was later named Heavilin Elementary and included a short stature prairie at the rear portion of the site.
 

The school district also programmed the sites to include sustainable elements such as rain gardens and bioswales. Most projects were complete in 2018. The last project in the construction sequence is a natatorium addition to the High School, which is to be completed late 2019.
